Dr Ahmad Shafiq Suffian Wee

Dr Ahmad Shafiq Suffian Wee is a Neurologist consulting at Earlwood Medical Centre. He completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle before undertaking a Master of Internal Medicine at the University of Sydney. He then achieved his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), specialising in Neurology, followed by subspecialty training in Stroke Medicine.

His specialist training was undertaken across Wollongong and Liverpool Hospitals, where he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of acute stroke, cerebrovascular disease, and a wide range of complex neurological conditions. Dr Shafiq is currently a Staff Specialist Neurologist at Wollongong Hospital.

With a strong background in internal medicine, Dr Shafiq takes a comprehensive and holistic approach to neurological care. His clinical interests include stroke, cerebrovascular disease, and the management of a broad spectrum of neurological disorders.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Shafiq is actively involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors, and holds a Conjoint Associate Lecturer appointment with UNSW Medicine. He has a strong interest in clinical research focused on improving patient care and health outcomes through evidence-based practice.

Dr Shafiq works closely with patients and their families, keeping them well informed and supported through diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care.
