Dr Lisa Cheng is an independent Specialist GP (ABN: 15 430 407 146) consulting at the Earlwood centre. Dr Cheng graduated from the University of New South Wales with an MBBS and subsequently a clinical researcher with a PhD from the University of Technology Sydney. After she graduated from Medicine, Dr Cheng was trained in various hospitals for internship and residency before joining the Paediatric Training program at Sydney Children Hospital, where she worked as a Paediatric Registrar. Dr Cheng then worked in Palliative Medicine before joining the Family Medicine Speciality and later became the Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Cheng holds Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in the speciality of General Practice. In addition to clinical work, Dr Cheng also participated in University teaching. She was the Conjoint Academician at the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales, and the former Lecturer for Clinical Features and Disease subject at the Faculty of Science, University of Technology Sydney. Dr Cheng is also an accredited GP Supervisor for the GP Registrar and the OSCE Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She was also a Surveyor with GPA Accreditation Plus, a role that she went to other practices to perform the quality assessment as per RACGP Standards of practice. Dr Cheng is the Advisory Council Chair of the Australasian Medical Services Coalition in the community. Furthermore, Dr Cheng also served for many years voluntarily as an ongoing columnist at the Australian Chinese Daily Herald to provide up to date health information on Women's and Children's Health to the local community. SBS Cantonese Radio Station has sought Dr Cheng to speak on various health topics to the general public from time to time. In 2017, Dr Cheng was presented the St George Community Individual Achievement Award by Mark Coure MP to recognise her voluntary service to the local communities. In 2022, Dr Cheng was presented the NSW Health Manager Leadership Award from the Australasian College of Health Service Management, in recognition of their outstanding leadership in the community. In addition to English, Dr Cheng also speaks fluent Cantonese and functional Mandarin.
