Dr Laura worked in public health outreach in the United States (environmental public health with an aim to reduce lead levels in young children) and in rural Mozambique (HIV treatment outreach), prior to studying medicine at the University of Sydney. She trained at Bankstown Hospital with rotations including paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology and then worked as an SRMO at Prince of Wales Emergency Department with additional rotations in paediatrics (Sydney Children’s Hospital), and psychiatry, before commencing her training in Family Medicine. She completed the Sydney Child Health Program and is interested in all areas of general practice with a focus on prevention and chronic disease management. When not at work, you might find her climbing trees with her kids. In addition to English, she speaks functional Spanish and Portuguese.
