Prof Danforn Lim is an independent Specialist GP (ABN: 25 535 861 124) consulting at the Earlwood Centre. Being an Adjunct Professor from both UTS and WSU, Prof Lim graduated from UNSW Medicine and holds dual registrations as a Registered Medical Practitioner and Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner. His unique combination of knowledge in integrating Western and Chinese medicine principles enables him to provide comprehensive, patient-centric care. Prof Lim's community engagement is noteworthy, having been honoured with the St George Community Award in the Individual Volunteer Achievement category in 2016 and 2018. Further accolades include the 2016 Business Person of the Year at the Local Business Award and recognition as one of the four COVID Pandemic Heroes of General Practice in 2021 by the AusDoc Magazine for his significant contributions to the community during the COVID pandemic. In 2022 & 2024, the Australasian College of Health Service Management awarded Prof Lim the NSW Health Manager Leadership Award. These awards acknowledged his leadership and dedication to enhancing staff and peer well-being, promoting cultural safety, fostering continuous improvement in healthcare settings, and integrating user-centred design principles into organisational processes. Academically, Prof Lim has completed 19 degrees encompassing 3 Bachelor's degrees, 4 postgraduate diplomas, 10 Master's degrees, and 6 Research Doctorate degrees. His research, particularly in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), supported by a full scholarship for his Doctor of Philosophy (Medicine) degree (PhD) at UNSW, showcases his commitment to advancing medical knowledge through evidence-based clinical research. Prof Lim has been involved in various clinical research projects through his academic and clinical affiliations and has published extensively in various scientific journals. He has also served as a reviewer and editorial board member for over 35 journals. In addition, Prof Lim has reviewed grants for the Medical Research Future Fund of NHMRC and the National Institute for Health Research UK. From 2015 to 2024, he fulfilled a full 9-year term as an Expert Committee (Research) Member of the RACGP and took part in the selection committee for various RACGP Foundation Awards.
