Join a collaborative paediatric team at SMSG - Kids' Dr

At Specialist Medical Services Group (SMSG), you’ll join a well‑established, multidisciplinary team with depth in paediatrics and the infrastructure to support you to do your best clinical work.
2
Why this role is different
-
Work alongside three experienced paediatricians who understand the realities of complex developmental work and shared care.
-
Be part of a large, stable team of GPs who actively refer and value allied health input, rather than seeing it as an add‑on.
-
Collaborate closely with many in‑house psychologist who provides psychometric assessments, giving you access to formal cognitive and behavioural data to inform your intervention plans.
-
Step into a caseload that already includes a wide range of developmental presentations ready to be handed over, rather than starting from scratch.
3
Your caseload and clinical opportunity
You will see a rich mix of developmental presentations, with strong referral streams for:
-
Speech, language and literacy difficulties across early childhood and school age.
-
Autism and neurodivergent children with communication, social and pragmatic needs.
-
Children with learning concerns who have already undergone psychometric assessment, allowing truly integrated care.
-
Ongoing long‑term clients from our existing paediatric team, creating continuity rather than sporadic, one‑off sessions.
The volume and variety of referrals mean you can shape a caseload around your interests (e.g. early language, school‑aged literacy, social communication), while still maintaining diversity day to day.
4
Who this will suit
This role is ideal if you:
-
Enjoy paediatrics and want a steady stream of developmental cases without constantly marketing yourself.
-
Value working within a medical setting with strong GP relationships, but still want the autonomy of allied health practice.

Are excited by genuine multidisciplinary teamwork, where your clinical opinion is sought out and respected.
-
Want to grow your skills with complex developmental presentations, supported by colleagues who can share cases, ideas and resources.
